Look at your paint in direct sun and you will probably see it: a haze of fine circular scratches, called swirl marks, that dull the color and kill the reflection. They come from automatic car washes, dirty wash mitts and years of towels. Add water-spot etching, light scratches from keys and bags, and oxidation on older paint, and the car looks tired no matter how clean it is. Wax and glaze fill those scratches for a few weeks and then they are back. Paint correction removes them.
Correction is controlled machine polishing: a compound or polish on a dual-action or rotary polisher levels the clear coat by a few microns, which removes the defect instead of covering it. Done right, with the paint measured first so we never take off too much, it gives a car a deeper, wetter gloss than it had on the showroom floor. It is also the step that should come before any ceramic coating, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it. We do it at your home under our own lights, so you can see the before and after on your own car in your own driveway.
This is the full process for a two-stage correction. One-step enhancement skips the compound stage; Show-Car adds wet-sanding where the paint needs it. Plan on 3 to 10 hours depending on the level.
Priced by vehicle size and how much defect removal the paint needs. We measure and inspect before we quote, and the number you approve is the number you pay. Full breakdown on our pricing page.
Lock in the corrected finish for 1 to 4 years. The coating goes on right after the final polish.

From $109Learn more →If the car is a few years old and looks hazy in sun, Enhancement. If you can see distinct scratches and swirls from a few feet away, Full. If the paint is heavily oxidized, badly scratched or you are chasing a concours finish, Show-Car. We inspect and measure first and we will tell you honestly if you need less than you think.
No, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing. If a scratch catches your fingernail it is usually through the clear coat and will not fully polish out; we can reduce it and make it far less visible. We measure the paint so we never chase a scratch deeper than the clear coat can afford.
Clear coat is thin, often less than the width of a hair, and it does not grow back. Every correction removes a little. Measuring every panel first tells us how aggressive we can safely be, and it is the difference between a professional correction and a burned-through edge.
A car wash "polish" is a glaze or wax that fills defects for a few weeks. Correction removes them. It takes hours instead of minutes and the result lasts as long as the paint is cared for, which is why we recommend a sealant or ceramic coating on top.
Corrected paint is only as good as the next wash. Hand wash or touchless only, two buckets, clean microfiber. Skip brush washes entirely. A ceramic coating makes all of that easier and protects the work for years.
We are fully mobile, so the answer to "near me" is your driveway or garage. Correction is done under our own lights, so a garage or a shaded driveway is ideal and we plan the day around it. We cover Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, Fairfield, Ridgefield, Weston, Easton, Trumbull and Stratford. Pick your town for local detail, or just book a time and we will come to you.
Years of protection applied straight onto the corrected finish. Most correction clients add it.

Best detailing service I've received. Looked fantastic, full interior and exterior clean. Did a great job removing the dog hair from the back and trunk.
I have 3 kids, which makes my car really messy, but they made it brand new again. Cleaned inside and out, came out amazing.
Excellent attention to detail. My car looked spotless inside and out. Professional from start to finish.
With M&G Detailing, from $379 for a one-step enhancement polish, from $549 for a two-stage full correction and from $799 for multi-stage show-car correction with wet-sanding. Shops in the county typically charge $500 to $1,500 for comparable work. Exact quote after we inspect the paint, no deposit, pay after.
3 to 5 hours for Enhancement, 5 to 7 for Full and 7 to 10 for Show-Car. We do it at your home, so you do not lose the car to a shop for a day; it just sits in the driveway while we work.
Not when it is measured and done correctly. We check clear-coat thickness on every panel before we start and choose the pad and polish to match. Damage happens when someone polishes blind or chases a scratch too deep; we do neither.
Yes. We bring our own lighting, polishers, pads and product. A garage or shade is ideal because we read the paint under our lamps, and we do not correct in rain or direct summer sun. A hose spigot and an outdoor outlet are all we need from you.
Not required, but recommended. Every correction ends with at least a sealant. A coating protects the work for one to four years instead of a few months and makes washing safer, which is what keeps swirls from coming back.
Usually yes. A one-step enhancement costs from $379 and reliably adds more than that to what a private buyer or an appraiser will offer, because corrected paint reads as a cared-for car.
